ROGERS CITY — The Presque Isle County Board of Commissioners right now agreed to enable recreational marijuana establishments in the county.
The vote only applies to townships inside the county that use the county’s zoning guidelines, and marijuana corporations could only open in townships that permitted such shops. The county oversees zoning for Bearinger, Belknap, Bismark, Case, Metz, Moltke, North Allis, Ocqueoc, Posen, Pulawski, and Rogers townships.
Rogers City has prohibited pot shops inside its boundaries. Onaway has permitted restricted kinds of marijuana corporations.
Nevertheless, today’s choice marks the biggest area in Northeast Michigan to enable recreational marijuana corporations soon after voters in November legalized the drug.
