(This story has been updated to reflect the Anchorage Assembly’s function in the ballot challenge)

Voters in Anchorage, Alaska, will choose April 7 regardless of whether to enable cannabis smoking in retail areas all through the city.

If the ballot measure is authorized, smoking marijuana in a retailer would be heavily regulated and take location in regions apart from workers and other retail consumers, the Anchorage Everyday News reported.

The Anchorage Assembly voted 7-four to let voters choose subsequent year the fate of on-web site consumption of cannabis.

Final July, regulators turned down a request from a cannabis retailer that applied to be the initial in Anchorage to give on-web site consumption.

Below the ballot measure, marijuana smoking regions would be monitored and would be separate from workers and other retail consumers, according to the newspaper.

The vote would modify the city’s workplace security code that bans indoor smoking, but there currently is a state provision that permits for cannabis smoking at dispensaries.
