I’m very familiar with the STIIIZY vape-pen system since these marvelous contraptions have accompanied me back and forth (several times) across the country via air. Thus they pass the most important test of my many vape cartridges. That would be the leaking under pressure test. STIIIZY passes, every time.
Others haven’t and have created a mess in my pocket or briefcase. Either you pass or fail, STIIIZY doesn’t leak, so it never fails to satisfy me.
That’s a big deal when a little half-gram 510 cartridge can cost some serious codder. You didn’t know this? Now you do, because if you plan on being in the air-pressure sealed airplane cabin, your regular 510 cartridge is going to leak if the manufacturer cut any corners sealing it. Maybe not right away, but it will start by gently oozing. It might get sticky on the outside or in your pocket. You’ll know it. Save yourself the time and money by finding the one that doesn’t leak.

Warren Bobrow=WB: Where are you from? Why cannabis? Did you go to business school? Who is your mentor?
James Kim=JK: I am from Cerritos in Los Angeles County. Prior to founding STIIIZY and forming the Shryne Group, I served in the Army’s 101st Airborne Division during a 13-month tour in Iraq. After serving, I was in search of a solution to help me cope with PTSD, and cannabis did just that and helped me transition from military to civilian life. It helped me overcome challenges. When I decided that I had the ability to create my own solution and cannabis brand, I went for it! I take inspiration from many people I have encountered in life. My primary mentor has been my mom. She set the standard for hard work and dedication and led by example. My mother taught me to be humble, stressed the importance of a strong work ethic and reinforced that I should take pride in any job, no matter how big or small.
WB: Tell me about your company. What was your inspiration? (Or who was your inspiration?) What is your Six Month Plan? One Year?
JK: STIIIZY was inspired by my lifestyle. I’m a Southern California native, and I created STIIIZY in 2017 for my friends who represent the diversity of lifestyles and cultures in SoCal. The brand name is a reflection of my personal experience and inspired by the California term “steez,” which refers to the convergence of style and ease. My goal is to grow the business and diversify the Shryne Group portfolio while keeping up with the demands of this complex industry.
WB: Do you cook? If so, what is your favorite thing to prepare? Who taught you? What is your favorite restaurant? Where? Type of food?
JK: My cooking skills are pretty much limited to BBQ and smoking meats. I learned to BBQ from my Army buddies and I carry that tradition with me today with friends and family. When I was deployed in Iraq, I would barter with the cooks to have steaks, chicken, whatever was available, sent to our base so I could cook for the team. During my combat patrol I would visit the local market to source veggies to BBQ on the grill. We were only fed once a day so making the most of those meals was key.
WB: What obstacles stand in your way? How do you propose removing those obstacles? What market do you most want to enter? Why?
JK: The cannabis industry is constantly changing. It’s important to maintain the quality in our products while delivering on the consumer demands with a diverse portfolio. When I entered the cannabis industry, I expected there would be obstacles along the way. The best I can do is try to anticipate challenges and react quickly to resolve them as they arise. Winning in California is key to growing Shryne Group and the STIIIZY brand as a legacy brand in the cannabis industry and beyond.
WB: What is your passion?
JK: My passion is the business. I aim to continue to live the brand every day by way of delivering on the III’s in STIIIZY – Inspire, Innovate and Influence.
