A survey of Ohio’s registered healthcare marijuana cardholders identified that the price tag of MMJ remains prohibitively highly-priced and it is tricky to get.
According to the Ohio State University’s Drug Enforcement Policy Center and the nonprofit advocacy group Harm Reduction Ohio, individuals stated the greatest barriers to acquiring healthcare cannabis, in order, have been:
- Higher fees of healthcare marijuana items in the state.
- Distance to the nearest dispensary.
- Getting a doctor’s recommendation to obtain a healthcare cannabis ID card.
Ohio has roughly 52,000 individuals registered to receive healthcare cannabis.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports half of the 640 individuals who responded to the survey stated they have been “very dissatisfied” with the existing plan.
