Hemp is creating its debut in the Hawkeye state. On Might 13, 2019, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed into law the Iowa Hemp Act, a bill legalizing industrial hemp production in the state. The bill was passed with overwhelming bi-partisan help from each homes of government. Beneath the measure, hemp farmers can legally develop up to 40 acres of hemp. The Iowa Division of Agriculture and Land Stewardship will be accountable for promulgating guidelines for the state’s new hemp plan.
